Betty L. Thomas

Betty L. Thomas, 79, passed away on September 8, 2022 at 10:55 pm at her residence surrounded by her family. Betty was born on September 25, 1942 in Canton, MS and she is the daughter of Robert L. and Dorothy (Green) Wright and the step daughter of Paul Wright. Betty married Ronald E. Thomas, Sr. on January 31, 1974.
 
Betty is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and retired from Good Samaritan Hospital after thirty years of service. She retired as the Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department in 2006. She had a passion for nursing and helping others but also enjoyed camping and traveling, especially with her family to the beach, Las Vegas, and Disney World. Betty also enjoyed attending the Mardi Gras and celebrating the 4th of July. Family was very important to Betty and she expressed this by traveling for many years watching all of her grandchildren play in their particular sport. She also is a huge Vincennes Lincoln Alice fan as well as the Indianapolis Colts and was a season ticket holder for many years. She is also an Ole Miss and LSU fan and is a die hard Mississippi woman. Betty is also a member of the Eagles and VFW Auxiliaries.
 
Survivors include her husband, Ronald E. Thomas, Sr. of Vincennes; son, Ronald E. Thomas, Jr. and his wife Carol of Sarasota, FL; daughters, Tracey Nowaskie and her husband Steve of Vincennes, Amy Stone and her husband Bill of Cloverdale, IN; her grandchildren, Jeremy Eisenhut, Brooke Owens, Bryce Nowaskie and his fiancee Marypat, Cody Thomas and Brandt Nowaskie. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. Breedlove and Dorothy Wright as well as her step father, Paul Wright.
 
A Celebration of Betty’s life will take place form 4-7 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway where you may share your memories with Betty’s family. The Thomas family would like to give a special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and Crystal Atkinson and Charlotte Kaiser for all of the good care they provided Betty. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Vincennes Lincoln High School Athletic Department. Online memories may be shared with Betty’s family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com.
