William E. “Bill” Greentree

William E. “Bill” Greentree, 83, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at his residence.

He was born August 11, 1939, in Decker, Indiana to Everett and Pearl (Briner) Greentree.
Bill, as he was known by friends and family, spent his life in Knox County, Indiana. He graduated from Decker High School in 1957 where he enjoyed playing for his high school basketball team. Bill worked in food sales and retired from Bierhaus and Sons. It turns out that retirement didn’t suit Bill, he returned to food sales and worked part time for many years. He was a life-long member of the Harmony Society and served as president there during the 1990s. He also held memberships in the Masonic Lodge #1, Hadi Shrine, Moose, Eagles, American Legion, and 40 et 8.
Bill was a lover of people. He never met a stranger, we say. He spent his final retirement years spending time with family and friends, working on home improvement projects, and making his daily rounds at the Moose Club and 40 et 8. A final cheer to the most distinguished gentleman, Mr. William Everett Greentree.
Surviving are his grandson, Jesse Deem and his wife Valerie, and his granddaughter, Jennifer Deem; his great grandchildren Glenn, Luna, Molly, Emma, and Lillian; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Hazel; a daughter Jacqueline J. Brewer; and his brothers, Paul and Marty Greentree.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Online memories may be shared with Bill’s family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Bill
