Harold Douglas Long, 86, of Odon, Indiana, went peacefully to Heaven, with his loved ones by his side, on Friday, July 29, 2022, at his residence at Parkview Village Christian Care. He was born on December 28, 1935, in Daviess County, Indiana to Randolph and Wanita (Burch) Long. Harold married the love of his life, Betty June (Swayze) Long on April 23, 1953.
Harold was a member of the Switz City Christian Church. He was a retired farmer and a truck driver for Stoll Brothers Lumber.
Family left to cherish the memory of Harold include: his wife, Betty June Long; two sons, Randy Long of Washington and Jeff Long of Newberry; daughter, Brenda (Alan) Pickett of Lyons; grandchildren, Andrea (Andy) Osborne, Clayton (Brittany) Pickett, Amber Cook, Darrell (Dusti) Long, Jordan Long and Terria (Justin) Wilcoxen; great-grandchildren, Asa, Anson, Alton, Rex, Ridge, Camden, Jorgia, Kyson, Ryan, Scottie and Shelley Mae; brother, Ronald Long of Elnora and sister, Martha Winklepleck of Texas.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Long.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Fred Haywood officiating. Harold will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family requested that memorial contributions be made to Parkview Village Christian Care or Helping Heart Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
