The subject of much speculation at the All-Star Game, Washington Nationals slugger Juan Soto won the 2022 Home Run Derby on Monday, topping 21-year-old Seattle Mariners phenom Julio Rodriguez in the final. Soto clubbed 19 home runs in the head-to-head final, walking it off in his minute of bonus time. At 23 years and 266 days, Soto is the second-youngest player to win the derby – only one day older than Juan Gonzalez was when he won in 1993.Albert Pujols, participating in the Home Run Derby at age 42, upset No. 1 seed Kyle Schwarber in the first round much to the delight of the fans and players at Dodger Stadium.
It is the season for Golf Scrambles at Country Oaks Golf Course in Montgomery and three big scrambles are coming up in the next couple of weeks. Beginning this Sunday, the annual Barr Reeve Boys Basketball Golf Outing will take place with lunch at 11:30am, and shotgun start at 1pm. The field will be six person teams, and coach Josh Thompson gives us the sign up details…

Once again that is this Sunday. Then one week from Saturday on August 6th, the Travis Burkhart Foundation will celebrate their 15th annual golf outing at Country Oaks. Tee time is 8am with breakfast and lunch provided. Dr. Jason Omer gives us the sign up details to get on board…

August 6th at 8am for this big scramble, remember this is limited to the first 36 teams on board. And on August 11th, the Daviess Community Hospital Foundation will be hosting their annual golf scramble at Country Oaks. Several prizes and awards will be presented with lunch at check in at 11am and shotgun start at noon. Angie Steiner gives all the scoop on getting signed up…
