Governor Holcomb has until Monday to announce his choice for Indiana’s next Supreme Court justice.
Under Indiana law, a nonpartisan nominating commission takes applications and conducts interviews.
Holcomb’s pick must be one of the commission’s three finalists, who were announced in April.
Holcomb says the candidates’ judicial philosophies are his top consideration but says in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, he’s also looking at the candidates’ ideas for helping the courts adapt to the new emphasis on using technology to make sure citizens can access government agencies and services more easily.
