Farmers to Families Food Box Program will be held in Loogootee on Thursday

The USDA is partnering with farmers, ranchers, specialty crop producers, food processors and distributors, and non-profit organizations to ensure that all Americans have access to the fresh and wholesome food they need during the COVID-19 national emergency.
Through the Purdue Extension Office, Martin County 4-H Jr Leaders and community volunteers will be providing the “Farmers to Families Food Box Program” at the Loogootee United Methodist Church parking lot, 208 West Main Street, Loogootee, IN.
This event will be Thursday, Sept 10, from 3:30-6:30 pm or until quantities run out. Approximately 1,000 families will be served. The program is free regardless of income or need. All you have to do is drive up, open your drunk, and they will load your vehicle for you.
Participants are asked to enter the parking lot from Wood Street and to not line up early due to school traffic in the area.
