Great night for our Hatchet tennis team and the seniors who were honored on Senior Night. The Hatchets shut out Princeton 5-0 and grabbed some big JV wins.

The Washington Hatchet Volleyball team came up with another big conference win against Gibson Southern winning in 4 sets. 13-25, 25-13, 25-8, 25-14. The Hatchets are now 7-1 and 5-1 in conference. The Hatchet JV lost in two sets 20-25, 19-25

The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs begin Sunday night with the famed Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. The race is one of NASCAR’s crown jewel events and is the first event in the Round of 16. After races at Darlington, Richmond and Bristol, the playoff field will be cut down to 12 drivers. The Southern 500 has become NASCAR’s annual “throwback weekend,” where drivers race with retro paint schemes. Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin enter as co-playoff favorites, with Harvick winning seven races to Hamlin’s six.
