IPL has agreed to a settlement with the Environmental Protection Agency

Indianapolis Power and Light has agreed to a settlement with the Environmental Protection Agency and other state and federal agencies–resolving possible violations of the Clean Air Act. IPL will spend five-million dollars at its Petersburg Generating Station–as well as acquiring and donating land to a wildlife refuge habitat management plan. The utility’s efforts to reduce emissions over the last decade–include the replacement of coal with cleaner natural gas to generate electricity. IPL serves more than 500-thousand Central Indiana customers.
