City Council Has a New Member

The new Washington City Council member is Democrat Doug Campton.  (photo from Washington Times Herald He was elected as the new councilman at a Democrat Caucus last night.  He will fill out the term of long time council member Joe Fleck who resigned his 4th District seat last month because he moved out of the district. 

        Campton owns Campton’s Store on Northwest 16th and served two terms on the Washington Catholic School Board.  The Times-Herald reports that Campton says he wants to give the district a voice that will be heard and make sure the city runs smoothly economically.  He said he wants to make sure that the new Eagle Railcar facility in his district has all they need and supports the city’s municipal services.  Campton will attend his first city council meeting has a council member at the first of the year.
