Sammie Kay Scott, 84, of Washington, IN passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 3:07 pm. Sam was born on September 14, 1939 in Vincennes, Indiana.
Sam originally retired from the telephone company, and then later retired from Midwest Engineering. Sam was a very active member of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a long standing member of the American Legion, the VFW, and The Eagles.
Sam was a devoted member to his race team, Grumpy Old Men Racing, with his best friend Eddie. Until recently you could usually find Sam at the drag races with Jonna, who he loved and treated like his daughter. Sam has always loved all things drag racing! Sam was a great friend to so many, and loved all of his family and friends deeply.
Sam is survived by his son Trevor Scott of Washington, IN, two grandsons Dalton and Dane Scott of College City, TX, granddaughter Ally Adkins of Aiken, SC, brother Billy Beard of Fairmont, IN, one niece and one nephew both of Fairmont, IN.
Sammie is proceeded in death by his father, Sam Scott.
A celebration of life for Sam will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Jonna’s house, 46 E 150 S Washington, IN 47501.
