Please continue to be patient and drive with caution around the work zones in Washington. Highway 50 through town is now closed on both sides of 57. But 57 is now open north and south. Hwy. 57 is two-lane instead of one-way during this phase of construction. The original plans called for a southbound lane only for the next few weeks. There will be no west-bound turn lane for a while. The next phase calls for the National Highway to be closed from SR 57 to Mill Street while they renew the 90-year-old infrastructure and rebuild the road bed. After that, they will work on Mill Street to SR 257.
