Yesterday, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a fatal traffic accident at the intersection of CR 600 N and CR 100 W (Edwardsport Rd). At approximately 10:08 a.m., Daviess County Central Dispatch received reports of a collision between a semi-truck and a motorcycle at the intersection. The investigation revealed that a 2024 Volvo semi, driven by 23-year-old Adenis Pepa of Brooklyn, New York, was traveling west on CR 600 N when it failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a southbound 2014 Yamaha motorcycle on CR 100 W. The motorcyclist, 70-year-old Lester Linneweber of Washington, was transported to the hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead upon arrival. His family has been notified. Pepa was also transported by ambulance for minor injuries and tested negative for drugs and alcohol. The Indiana State Police are reconstructing the accident, and once the investigation is complete, the reports will be submitted to the Daviess County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
