Michael R. Butler, 59, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away at 6:48 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at his home.
He was born September 25, 1964 in Evansville, Indiana to Robert L. and Joanne Butler.
Michael retired from Peabody Energy after 27 years in the mining industry. He held various positions while working and retired as a Mine Manager. Michael owned and operated Butler Taxidermy Services for over 20 years. He was a member of the Dogwood Coon Club and the Alfordsville Christian Church. Michael loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Butler.
Michael is survived by his wife, Carra Butler of Loogootee; children, Leah Butler of Loogootee and Cole Butler of Evansville; mother, Joanne (Raymond) Morris of Evansville; siblings, Bill (June) Butler of Bolingbrook, IL, Don (Sandy) Butler of Winslow, Jim (Mary) Butler of Evansville, David Butler of Vincennes, and Brandon (Amy) Butler of Monrovia; five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2024 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home and Friday, August 16, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
