Floyd Samuel “Sam” Cummings Jr.

Floyd Samuel “Sam” Cummings Jr., 66, of Shoals, formerly of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on August 7, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born on October 6, 1957, in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Floyd Sr. and Ila Mae (Blaine) Cummings.
Sam was a United States Navy Veteran, serving his country for 8 years. He worked at various HVAC and factories doing maintenance. Sam loved collecting, he collected clocks and was known to buy broken clocks and repair them as gifts for his family and friends. He was a very generous man and would help anyone. Sam loved his family and spending time with his cats, Dixie, Pixie, Trouble, and Lady.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Sr. and Ila Cummings, his sister, Debbie Hobson, his step- son, Derrick Wells, his brother-in-laws, Floyd Goodman, and Dennis Hobson, his nephew, Jay Camp.
Sam is survived by his sisters, Marsha (Jim) Camp, Becky (Eddie) Rogers, Pat (Dave) Gardner, Brenda Goodman, his step- children, Jessica Hogan, Matthew Wells, and several nieces, and nephews.
Cremation was chosen according to Sam’s wishes, a private family burial will take place at a later date in Spring Hill Cemetery in Beecher City, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Martin County Humane Society in memory of Sam.
