Larry Reed McCrary

Larry Reed McCrary, 80, passed away during the evening hours of March 11, 2024. He was born in Washington on June 17, 1943, to Kenneth Henry and Anna Mae (Hudson) McCrary. On September 19, 1970, he married Norma (Walls) McCrary and she survives.
After high school, Larry served his country honorably in the United States Army. He later attended Vincennes University. Prior to retirement, Larry was employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (commonly known as Crane) where he worked in the explosives department. He was an accomplished woodworker who created many beautiful pieces of furniture.
Those left to cherish Larry’s memory include his wife of fifty-three years, Norma McCrary; daughter, Donna (Lee) VanHoy of Washington; grandchildren: Dylan VanHoy, Christian VanHoy, both of Washington; Tyler Hahn in Texas; and great-grandson, Jackson VanHoy . He leaves a sister, Lela Mae Pride of Xenia, Illinois.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Anna Mae McCrary; daughter, Melinda Yanock; sisters, Roma Lee Brannan, Emma Ruth Wade; and brother, Kenneth Wayne McCrary.
Visitation for Larry Reed McCrary will be 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.
Funeral services for Larry Reed McCrary will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 1:00 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Jerry Harbstreit will officiate.
