Evansville Woman Faces Neglect Charges for Allowing 12-Year-Old to Drive

An Evansville woman is facing charges of neglect after allegedly allowing a 12-year-old to drive a car with two other children inside. Police responded to a call reporting an intoxicated woman taking three kids “joy riding” around 1:20 a.m. on Monday. Lindsey Pearson, 26, reportedly told officers she was teaching the 12-year-old to drive. Pearson admitted to having one mixed drink before picking up the kids. She was unaware that a 12-year-old couldn’t drive on public roads. Pearson was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail, facing three counts of neglect plus one count of disorderly conduct and criminal recklessness.
