Volunteer fire departments in the region are facing a shortage of members. To address this, the Vincennes Township Fire Department is hosting a Junior Firefighter Camp this summer to engage interest in firefighting. The camp, open to junior high and high school students aged 13 to 16, will offer hands-on experience with live fire, a smokehouse, a combat challenge, and a car demo. Participants can also learn about joining junior firefighter programs in the area. The camp will be held on June 7th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Highland Woods Pavillion in Vincennes.
