Warrick County, IN – Following a December 2023 criminal investigation into alleged misappropriated funds at Warrick County Animal Control, additional charges have been filed.
Danielle A. Barnes, the former supervisor, was initially arrested for Theft and Possession of a Legend Drug.
Further investigations revealed more discrepancies, leading to charges against Susan Broshears, a former employee.
The charges stem from an alleged scheme involving a low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic. Barnes and Broshears are accused of expediting appointments for a fee and redirecting payments to Barnes’ non-profit organization. Additionally, Barnes allegedly transferred purebred dogs from the shelter to her organization for sale.
Broshears was arrested, posted bond, and was released. Barnes, previously arrested in December, will face additional charges.
