Terre Haute Man Sentenced to 12 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Trafficking

Russell Silvers, 59, from Terre Haute, has been sentenced to twelve years in federal prison on drug charges. The sentencing comes after an investigation revealed Silvers regularly traveled between Terre Haute and South Bend to obtain meth. During 2020 and 2021, Silvers was observed selling substantial quantities of meth. In January 2022, he was arrested with nearly 1,000 grams of a meth mixture in his car, admitting to sourcing his supply from South Bend. Silvers, who was on bond for state cases involving meth possession, criminal recklessness, dealing cocaine, and meth, was identified as responsible for distributing around 10 kilograms of meth in Vigo County. Upon completing his prison term, Silvers will be subject to a five-year probation.
