High-Speed Chase Ends in Vigo County Arrest

A cross-county police chase unfolded on Wednesday, initiated by deputies from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office pursuing a Jeep Gladiator northbound on U.S. 41 around 5 p.m. Seeking assistance, the pursuit entered Vigo County, prompting the deployment of spike strips by responding deputies. Strategically placed at U.S. 41 and Oregon Church Road, the spikes successfully hit three of the fleeing vehicle’s four tires. The driver continued briefly before stopping in the Industrial Park on Harlan Drive. Following a felony stop, the driver was apprehended without injuries. Sullivan County authorities took custody of the suspect and the vehicle, transporting them to the Sullivan County Jail.
