Loren Russell Moore

ed-lee-4

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Loren Russell Moore, a devoted husband, beloved father, and a friend to many, who departed this life on December 15, 2023. Born in Indianapolis, IN, on August 18, 1943, Loren was a beacon of love, kindness, and dedication throughout his life.
An honorable veteran, Loren served his country with unwavering dedication and was honorably discharged from the Army. Loren had worked for Fritz Loonstin Nursery and he trained under wonderful leadership and learned and mastered his landscaping skills. He then committed his life to service as a groundskeeper at St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he worked until his retirement. A man of precision and passion, Loren was known for his meticulous care of the hospital’s grounds. Yet, his true passion lay in the cultivation of his home garden. He was a true artist with a spade, transforming his lawn into a breathtaking masterpiece that mirrored the beauty of his soul. His love for nature was only surpassed by his love for his family and his favorite sports teams, the IU Basketball and Colts Football. Loren also enjoyed his friends at McDonalds on 6th Street where he liked to drink his coffee and have cookies.
Loren was a man of faith, a dedicated member of the Church Of Victory. As we mourn his loss, we remember the words of the scripture, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelations 21:4. His legacy will continue to live on in his wife, Carol Moore, his treasured daughter, Candace Graves, his grandchildren, and in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 23 ,2023 from 10:00 am until the service time of 12:00 pm. Pastor Sandy Ivers will be officiating. Burial will then follow in the veterans section of Memorial Park Cemetery
We invite you to celebrate Loren’s life by sharing your fondest memories and photos on his memorial page. Your tributes will serve as a comforting reminder of the bond we all shared with him and the impact he made on our lives. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Loren.
