Micheal Allen Burke, Sr. of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was 70 years old.
Mike was born in Vincennes, Indiana, at Good Samaritan Hospital on March 20, 1953. He graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1972. He loved his hometown of Vincennes and resided there all his life.
Mike was a dependable, loyal, hardworking factory worker who took great pride in doing his best at any job he undertook. He retired form Gemtron Corportation, where he worked for 23 years.
He was co-owner and manager of Dee’s Country Rentals in Vincennes for the past several years.
Mike had a great sense of humor with a quick wit. In his younger years, he loved to spend time fishing. He was a huge homebody and loved spending time with friends and family, especially his brother, Tony. He loved playing cards, and watching sports, especially the Cubs and racing on TV. He also loved watching the History channel, Discovery channel, non-fiction movies, True Crime, and documentaries, to name a few. He would often share fun and random facts about animals, insects, or history, etc., from his wild and interesting viewing habits that he loved so much on his big screen TV.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, James Burke Jr.; maternal grandparents, James and Ardella Wright; paternal grandparents, James and Hazel Burke; nephew, Jarod Burke; and niece, Tonya Burke. He is survived by his mother, Deloris Burke; brothers, Anthony Burke and JD Burke (Debbie); and sisters, Linda Burke and Cathy Yoder; sons, Michael Burke Jr and Shane Burke; daughter, Kim Burgess; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 20213 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The service will begin 12:00 pm with Pastor Brad Delp officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Michael.
