Arrest Made in Hit-and-Run Case Following Unexpected Break

Tell City Police swiftly apprehended the driver of an SUV involved in a hit-and-run incident on Friday, where a juvenile was struck and left injured. Fortunately, the juvenile’s injuries were non-life-threatening. Investigators received an unexpected break in the case during their search for the missing cellphone of the injured juvenile. The GPS coordinates of the phone guided officers to a parked black SUV a few blocks away. Upon inspection, the vehicle displayed front-end damage, and the missing cellphone was discovered on the windshield. 40-year-old Heath Schreiner of Tell City was consequently arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in moderate bodily injury.
