Cheryl Ann (Noeth) DiMaggio, born on September 29, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, lived a fulfilling life guided by love, selflessness, and kindness. Her never-ending will to serve touched many lives and created an enduring legacy that lives on within her loved ones. On October 27, 2023, she completed her life journey peacefully, in Washington, Indiana, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy of love and positivity.
Cheryl was the daughter of the late George and Madeline Noeth, radiating the love of her parents in everything she did. She loved and nurtured her two beautiful children, Amanda Walls (son-in-law Jason), and Daniel DiMaggio (daughter-in-law Mandy). Cheryl found her greatest joy as being Nana to her four beautiful grandchildren, Drew, Cohen, Madilyn (Walls), and Everly (DiMaggio). Love and affection extended to her siblings as well, with Cheryl touching the hearts of Russ (Connie) Noeth, Patricia Noeth, Tanya (Larry) Covington, Mike (Debbie) Noeth, Tessie Ripley, Gail Noeth, and Mary Day. Cheryl is preceded in death by her late brother Ronald.
Cheryl had a unique ability to combine her professional life with her generous spirit. She spent years making endless friendships and connections working at Wal-Mart and CVS, creating an atmosphere of warmth and companionship wherever she went. Her ability to connect with her coworkers, who she treated with respect and warmth, was something everyone admired. The kindness that she showed through the years continues in the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Cheryl’s love for her family gave her monumental strength and endless compassion, filling her heart with infinite love and traditions. She savored every moment she spent with her family, celebrating their achievements and triumphs. From cheering on her Hatchets to boasting about her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments to everyone she knew. Cheryl was always their biggest supporter. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs fan. Her love for her favorite teams portrayed her fandom like no other. Cheryl also had a love for music of all genres from a young age. A love that she passed onto her children, they remember playing the name that song or band game from a young age. It became a competition and tradition. Her children share that love for music with her grandchildren and the tradition continues. She was a woman of joy, spreading delight through her love of family, playing bingo, shopping, and gift-giving. Her family says that she was the best gift giver because she truly enjoyed it. She put so much thought into each gift, assuring that it was perfect. Her grandkids nicknamed her ‘Nana-Clause’ for her heartwarming tradition of making birthdays and Christmas so special.
Echoing the words of Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel,” Cheryl indeed made lasting impressions on everyone with love, joy, and kindness she spread so delightfully. Her life exemplified selflessness, thoughtfulness, and an overwhelming sense of love.
Cheryl Ann (Noeth) DiMaggio was a beacon of light who lived a life with inspiring moments of love and selflessness. While she has left the physical world, her spirit of joy, her laughter, and her love for life, continues to inspire and guide those who were fortunate to be part of her life’s journey. As we remember Cheryl, let’s celebrate her life by adopting her spirit of giving, creating our own ripples of kindness in the world.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Cheryl on Thursday November 9, 2023 at Harvest Community Fellowship Church in Washington, Indiana. A memorial visitation will be from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. Following visitation Pastor Brad Rainey will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Sugarland Memory Gardens at a later date.
