Ella Kay (Burke) Dreiman

ed-lee-3

Ella Kay (Burke) Dreiman, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis surrounded by her family.
Ella was born October 14, 1949, to the late Gene and Mary Alice (Carter) Burke.
Ella was a 1967 graduate of Monroe City High School where she was a cheerleader, the last Miss MCHS, a band majorette, sang in the group, “The 6 Teens” and was a member of Future Homemakers of America.
Ella married her high school sweetheart, Randie Dreiman, on August 28, 1970, at St John’s Catholic Church in Vincennes.
Ella worked as a supervisor in the Neurology Department at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years. After retiring from Good Samaritan, she worked as an assistant at Flaget Elementary. She was also a life member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Ella is survived by her husband, Randie; sister, Ranah (Joe) Rusch; sons, Eric (Michelle) Dreiman and Brandon (Beth) Dreiman; grandsons, Cooper, Hudson, Luke, and Blake Dreiman. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Ella was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Alice Burke, father Gene Burke, and brother, Jeff Burke.
Ella was devoted to her family and friends and will be remembered for her love of others, generosity, and strength of spirit. It is difficult to list all the ways Ella brightened the lives of those she met. Ella was also known for her fondness for the colors pink, black and gold. She loved to take beach vacations and visited Myrtle Beach, SC, many times over the years. Ella often had a pink flamingo in her landscape or in a picture to remind her of the times she spent at the beach with her family.
It has been a tremendous honor for all who knew her to share life with a soul as unimaginably strong and capable as Ella’s. Never allowing the many difficult circumstances of life knock her down or break her spirit, Ella was committed to life lived to its fullest. She was a constant connector, a dependable friend, an incredibly generous host, and these words still do not describe her in full. The depth and breadth of how she will be missed cannot be captured, and those who knew her can speak to this.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Internment in the Mausoleum at Memorial Park will promptly follow the funeral mass. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Ella.
