An Orange County was arrested in Bedford after a vehicle chase involving law enforcement agencies.
The pursuit began on Wednesday, October 18th, around 11:37 AM, when the Bloomington Police Department initiated the chase, involving a white 2017 Dodge Durango.
The chase extended southbound, with support from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. However, once the Durango entered Lawrence County, the chase was de-escalated. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department then took over but lost sight of the vehicle near SR 58 and Maple Leaf Road.
Shortly after, Trooper Caleb Garvin, while involved in another assignment, spotted the Durango at a Marathon service station on East 16th Street in Bedford.
The driver and owner of the Durango, 22-year-old Zachary Reed Hupp from Orleans, was identified by Trooper Garvin, who knew that Hupp had an active arrest warrant from Monroe County. Hupp was taken into custody without any issues.
Upon further investigation, law enforcement found Hupp in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Hupp was transported to the Lawrence County Jail, where he now faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant from Monroe County
