whs-2-2

The Washington Community Schools have been awarded the Hope Honors Medal. Several Washington teachers recently attended the Kids at Hope Masters Institute, where the local school system was honored. The staff members reported on the award at Thursday night’s school board meeting.
In personnel matters, the board received the resignation of Jeanette Socks as a high school math teacher, and Brian Hancock submitted his resignation as the WHS varsity girls tennis coach.
The Board also approved several ECA appointments and agreed to pay Lori Mittlieder for teaching a class during her preparation period during the current school year.
In other business, the Board approved the WHS Beta Club attending the national beta competition, the FFA attending the national convention, and some staff attending dual language immersion professional development.
The next board meeting is scheduled for November 16.
