Odon, IN – A devastating traffic accident occurred on October 17, resulting in the loss of a young Odon resident’s life. Around 11:10 p.m., Daviess County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a tractor that had overturned in a ditch close to the intersection of CR 1000 N and CR 775 E in Odon. Daviess County Deputies promptly arrived at the scene to investigate the incident. The tractor’s operator was identified as 18-year-old Kevin Knepp. Mr. Knepp was traveling northbound on CR 775 E when, under unknown circumstances, the tractor left the roadway and toppled into a ditch, tragically pinning Mr. Knepp. Kevin Knepp was pronounced deceased at the scene, and his family has been notified. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is actively leading the investigation into this tragic accident. Assisting agencies at the scene included the Plainville Volunteer Fire Department, the Daviess County Ambulance Service, the Daviess County Coroner’s Office, Tri County Wrecker Service, and Dave’s Wrecker Service.
