Loogootee Man Arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement

A Loogootee man, Brian C. Sinnott, 19, was arrested on Thursday, October 12, for multiple charges following a traffic stop. Master Trooper Jarrod Lents was patrolling US 50 near Loogootee when he noticed a vehicle making unsafe lane movements. Trooper Lents stopped the BMW and identified the driver as Brian Sinnott of Loogootee. During the traffic stop, Sinnott became verbally aggressive, using obscenities toward Trooper Lents. The situation escalated when Sinnott revved his engine. Trooper Lents approached the vehicle, cautioning Sinnott not to rev his engine with the patrol car behind him. However, Sinnott continued to use profanities and left his vehicle, advancing toward Trooper Lents. Despite orders to stop, Sinnott persisted, leading to a brief struggle. Trooper Lents eventually managed to handcuff Sinnott. Sinnott was then transported to the Martin County jail without further incident. Resisting Law Enforcement – Class A Misdemeanor
