Good Samaritan Marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a Call for Early Detection

As the world enters Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Good Samaritan is taking proactive measures to promote women’s health by encouraging regular screening mammograms starting at age 40. Breast cancer ranks as the most common cancer among women, following skin cancer, and stands as the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths. In a proactive step, the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust provides grant funding to offer free screening mammograms to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. Eligibility for this assistance can be determined by calling 812-885-3627. Additionally, the 13th annual Think Pink charity ride, set for October 14, supports the breast cancer awareness cause. Registration begins at 8 a.m. CST at the Mach One Parking Lot in Robinson, Illinois. The ride, which is open to all vehicles, will take participants from Vincennes, IN, to Robinson, IL, via several stops along the way. It costs $20 per person and $10 per rider to participate. For more information about the charity ride or to pre-register, individuals can contact Kathy Arnold at 618-544-4433 or via email at kathyarnold2008@yahoo.com, or reach out to Warren Salesman at 618-928-7610.
