INDOT Progresses on Mid-States Corridor with Tier 2 Environmental Study

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is moving forward with the next phase of environmental studies for the ambitious Mid-States Corridor Project. INDOT is now ready to solicit proposals from consulting firms. These firms will be tasked with conducting the Tier 2 environmental study for a segment of the future highway. The request for proposals (RFP) is anticipated to be released by November 14. The forthcoming Tier 2 study is specifically focused on SIU 2, encompassing the stretch between Interstate 64 and State Road 56 at Haysville. This upcoming study will entail a more in-depth exploration, with the design team developing multiple alternatives (alignments) within the chosen Tier 1 corridor. Evaluations of each alternative will encompass factors such as costs, impacts, and benefits, culminating in the selection of the final blueprint for SIU 2. During this process, agencies, stakeholders, and the public will have the opportunity to offer input.
