Former Loogootee Schools Superintendent to Lead Southwest Dubois County Schools

The Southwest Dubois County School Corporation Board of Trustees has appointed Chip Mehaffey, the former superintendent of Loogootee Community Schools, as the new superintendent of schools. With a 34-year career in education, Mr. Mehaffey served as the superintendent of Loogootee Community Schools for six years before his retirement in 2021. His educational journey includes roles as an assistant superintendent, high school principal, athletic director, and a 23-year tenure as a math teacher and varsity basketball coach. Beyond his educational pursuits, Mr. Mehaffey enjoys traveling, quality family time, playing with his two furry companions, and a good game of golf. Mr. Mehaffey assumes the position left vacant by former superintendent Tim LaGrange, who announced his resignation in early September to pursue an opportunity in Washington State.
