Good Samaritan Takes Over WIC Offices in Knox and Daviess Counties

In a bid to bolster community healthcare services, Good Samaritan is assuming control of the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) offices in Daviess and Knox Counties.
Effective October 1, 2023, the administration of the WIC offices in Daviess and Knox Counties will transition from IU Health to Good Samaritan. This move underscores Good Samaritan’s steadfast commitment to enhancing community health and well-being.
The Knox County WIC office’s new location will be 328 N. Second Street, Suite 204, Vincennes, Indiana. This strategic move aims to offer more accessible and convenient services to Knox County residents. Please note that the Knox County WIC office will be temporarily closed from October 2 to October 10, 2023, to facilitate the relocation to the new premises.
The Daviess County WIC office will continue to operate from its current location at 2 NE 21st Street, Washington, Indiana, until the end of the year. A new location is also in the works for the Daviess County WIC office. It will remain closed until October 12, 2023, as Good Samaritan takes over its administration.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Education Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federal nutrition initiative designed to support pregnant women, new mothers, and children up to age five. Its overarching goal is to empower mothers and children to make healthy dietary choices, ensuring access to nutritious foods and promoting healthier lifestyles. Research shows that proper early nutrition significantly reduces developmental delays, contributing to the health of children and adults.

Hours: Monday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Tuesday 10:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday Closed, Thursday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
