Indiana-Based Trucking Company, Elmer Buchta, Files for Bankruptcy

A long-established Indiana trucking company, Elmer Buchta Trucking, founded in Otwell in 1938, has filed for bankruptcy. The company, which has been in operation for nearly a century, was acquired by Transport Acquisitions just under a year ago, with its headquarters listed in Evansville. The purchase of Elmer Buchta Trucking was completed by the Wright Family Investment Group, which had owned the company since 2008. The bankruptcy filing also encompasses two other affiliated operations, Buchta Leasing of Princeton and WBF of Otwell. Financial reports indicate that Elmer Buchta Trucking holds assets valued between $1 million and $10 million, while its liabilities are estimated to range from $10 million to $50 million.
