In the early hours of August 22, officers from the Washington Police Department’s 3rd shift were dispatched to the 1800 block of Vincennes Ave. following a report of an unknown male inside a vehicle. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle leaving the area, but the driver evaded the stop. After a brief pursuit, the abandoned vehicle was located near a church on Oak Grove Road. Despite efforts, the subject remains unlocated. The vehicle was subsequently found to be stolen. Investigation ongoing. WPD has received reports of vehicle tampering incidents over the past few days. Authorities urge residents to lock their vehicles at night and avoid leaving valuables inside.
