Upcoming Republican Conventions in Knox County Towns Ahead of General Election

Ahead of the Municipal General Election in November, residents in certain towns will have the chance to cast their votes this month. The Knox County Election Board recently met to address ballot matters in the incorporated towns within Knox County. In Decker, six Republicans are competing for three town board seats, with no Democrats in the race. There will be a Republican Town Convention on August 14th at the Decker Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m. As there are no Democratic contenders, the winners of this convention will assume office in January, and there will be no election in November for Decker. A similar situation exists in Bruceville, where two Republicans are vying for the Town Clerk and treasurer positions. Bruceville voters will have their say in a Republican Town Convention on August 18th, determining who will serve in that capacity.
