Jasper Native Scott Rolen Inducted into MLB Hall of Fame

Jasper native Scott Rolen was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday. Rolen shared his gratitude for growing up and playing high school baseball in Jasper, but the most memorable moment in his career was when his parents attended his first Major League game. Rolen, a multi-sport athlete in Jasper, received a Division I basketball offer before being selected by the Phillies straight out of Jasper High School in the 1993 amateur draft. Throughout his career, Rolen was a seven-time All-Star, won eight Gold Gloves, and secured a World Series victory with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006. Rolen’s two children celebrated the special moment with him as he fulfilled his son’s prediction of one day becoming a Hall of Famer. Alongside his induction, Rolen currently serves as the Director of Player Development for Indiana University baseball and continues to work with the Indiana Bulls.
