Brady Byrd continued Wednesday at USA Wrestling’s Fargo Boys tournament in North Dakota at the Fargodome in the Freestyle portion of the tournament.
Semi finals versus Rocco Hayes from Orland Park Illinois Brady got caught in a gut wrench and lost.
In the consolation semi final Brady pinned the twin brother of his first opponent Alexander Diaz from Pennsylvania and that moved him into the consolation championship where he faced Kole Davidheiser from Boyerstown HS in Pennsylvania.
In a hard fought match Brady wins 9-8 to grab 3rd place in the 100lb Freestyle. Congratulations on a great achievement.
Brady gets the day off today and then back at it tomorrow in the Greco – Roman portion of the event.
Team Pennsylvania won junior freestyles while Team Indiana finished 8th including 5 All-Americans including Brody.
Fargo is the biggest high school wrestling tournament in the nation at nearly 8000 participants from all 50 states. Brady will compete in both freestyle and Greco Roman divisions in the junior division.
