Comments were made during Tuesday’s Knox County Commissioners meeting regarding Donovan’s court appearance scheduled this week for drug possession charges stemming from her arrest in March. Officials had initiated the process to remove Donovan from her elected position just a day before her arrest due to her failure to attend work, respond to calls, and fulfill her duties effectively. While the local government has stepped in to ensure her staff and bills are taken care of, Donovan has yet to resign voluntarily. Karen Donovan is set to attend a pre-trial hearing in September.
