The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association has announced its 2023 All-State Team. The ballots were compiled through nominations submitted by member head coaches and the final results were determined by voting of the IHSBCA membership. The Cardinals placed 41 year old right-hander Adam Wainwright on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain ahead of Wednesday’s game. Wainwright in his last outing on Tuesday, 15-2 loss to Miami after giving up seven runs, four earned, and seven hits in 3 innings.
MLB announced Wednesday that it is suspending New York Yankees relief pitcher Jimmy Cordero for the remainder of the 2023 season for violating the league’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy.The announcement didn’t stipulate which section of the policy Cordero violated and it’s not clear if he faces pending criminal charges. The league’s policy doesn’t require criminal charges to enact a suspension.
The 78th U.S. Women’s Open championship is being played at Pebble Beach Golf Links for the first time. The 156-player field features the oldest player in the field at 52 Annika Sorenstam. If you want to watch; coverage starts at 6 on USA Thursday and Friday and 3 pm on NBC for weekend rounds.
