Tragic Shooting Incident Claims Lives of Perry County Officer and Suspect

A tragic incident unfolded in Perry County on July 2, involving a domestic dispute between Sean Hubert, 34, of Tell City, and a female victim. The victim managed to reach Perry County Memorial Hospital for medical treatment of her injuries. On July 3, the victim alerted hospital staff that Hubert was en route to the facility. Sergeant Heather Glenn confronted Hubert and attempted to make an arrest, but he resisted arrest and failed to comply with Sergeant Glenn’s commands. Sergeant Glenn attempted to use an electronic-controlled weapon, but it proved ineffective and a brief struggle ensued, during which Hubert brandished a firearm and shot Sergeant Glenn. In response, officers from the Tell City Police Department and Cannelton Police Department fired back, injuring Hubert. Both Sergeant Glenn and Hubert received immediate medical attention at the scene, but tragically succumbed to their injuries. Sergeant Heather Glenn served Perry County as an esteemed law enforcement officer for nearly two decades. She was highly respected and regarded as a pillar of her community. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, with an autopsy scheduled. No further details will be released at this time.
