Emergency Road Closure: Southbound U.S. 41 in Knox County

roadwork-2

In Knox County, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has issued an emergency road closure for southbound U.S. 41. Due to a pipe failure beneath the roadway caused by recent severe weather, southbound U.S. 41 near Oaktown has been closed since Thursday evening, June 29. The pipe failure created a void under the road, necessitating immediate repairs. Repairs are expected to commence on Wednesday, July 5, and until then, southbound U.S. 41 will remain closed to traffic. During the closure, motorists should take State Road 58, then follow State Road 159, and finally connect to State Road 67. This detour will guide drivers around the affected area.
