Hatchet football is excited to announce their Jr High Football Skills and Fundamentals camp for incoming 7th and 8th Graders. Camp runs from Monday July 10th thru Wednesday the 12th from 6-7 pm. Cost is $20 and includes a Camp T Shirt. Non contact drills focusing on position specific skills. Field is cut down to 64 players and now a single elimination match play tournament to decide the champion.
In a sign of the new college sports structure West Virginia transfer Tre Mitchell commits to Kentucky after Bob Huggins’ resignation. Kentucky marks the fourth school that Mitchell will play for. He spent two seasons at UMass before transferring to Texas. He then transferred to West Virginia, where he played last season.
The NBA announced the schedules for this offseason’s Summer League games in Las Vegas, Sacramento and Salt Lake City starting next week. Pacers first game is July 8th in Vegas against the Wizards on ESPN2
Free-agent NFL running back Leonard Fournette managed to exit his Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat with no injuries after the SUV caught fire while he was driving on a Florida highway.
Former NFL and University of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett has died in an apparent drowning incident along Florida’s Gulf Coast. He was 35 years old. Arkansas’ Deltaplex News reported on Tuesday that Mallett was transported after the incident from a beach in Destin, Florida to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officials with the White Hall School District where Mallett worked confirmed his death. Mallett was working as the head football coach at White Hall High School.
