Discover Downtown Washington has announced the third round of recipients for the Façade Improvement Grant. Congratulations to the three downtown businesses: Tarec Properties at 112 E Main St., Top Notch Boutique at 423 E Main St., and Toy’s Auto Parts at 14 S State Rd. 57!
The Commons Progress
Taber Owens has been diligently working on the concrete and groundwork for The Commons. The project is on track for completion by December 2023, bringing a new attraction to our downtown.
Christmas on Main
Our Christmas Committee is already preparing for the festive season! We are accepting donations to set up an ice skating rink downtown. If you’re interested in planning, performing, or collaborating, please contact us.
Hatchet Hollow Athletic Facility
Exciting progress is being made at the new Hatchet Hollow Athletic Facility. The artificial turf surface is being prepared, and the foundation for new locker rooms and a concession area has been laid. Completion is expected by Week 2 of the season, just in time for WHS’s first home game.
Eclipse 2024 planning
Daviess County is gearing up for the Eclipse of 2024. As our county falls into the path of totality, local municipalities and organizations are invited to plan events to celebrate this remarkable phenomenon. For more information, reach out to Amber Warden at the Daviess County Economic Development Office.
Mural artist Barb Stahl
Join us in giving a warm welcome to Barb Stahl, an Indianapolis mural artist who will be temporarily residing in Washington. Barb will be working on an exciting new downtown mural, adding beauty to our community.
