Princeton’s Toyota plant, which commenced vehicle production in 1996, has unveiled plans for an expansion that will generate additional employment opportunities. The plant announced this week its intention to manufacture two brand-new SUV models, each equipped with three rows of seating capable of accommodating between 4 and 8 passengers.

One of the forthcoming models will be a luxurious Lexus SUV, while the other will carry the distinguished Toyota emblem. These vehicles will incorporate advanced features such as hands-free driving, remote parking capabilities, and cutting-edge technology enabling smartphones to function as digital keys.

This endeavor represents an investment of over $800 million. The expansion is expected to create approximately 1,400 new jobs.

The company also aims to transform the Princeton plant into a carbon-neutral facility within the next three decades. An exact timeline for the commencement of production has not yet been announced.
