In a stunning twist to the saga that has consumed golf for the past year, the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour and LIV Golf, the upstart breakaway tour funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, have agreed to merge and create a new entity to unify the tours.
The details are still sparse and incomplete, but the fact that the PGA Tour and LIV Golf have agreed to create a new entity after more than a year of acrimony and litigation is significant. The deal was negotiated in such a secretive fashion that not even the PGA Tour’s players knew. LIV Golf.s supposed CEO Greg Norman apparently found out in a phone call just before the announcement was made public.
Indianapolis Colts cornerback and kick returner Isaiah Rodgers apologised Monday following reports that he was the subject of an NFL investigation into violations of the league’s betting policy.
The Colts confirmed the existence of the investigation earlier Monday following a report that a then-unidentified player conducted “pervasive” betting activities, including bets on Colts games.
Many Indiana State University baseball fans are upset as the university says it will not host the NCAA baseball super regional this week.
TCU won against Arkansas Monday evening, leaving Indiana State the higher seed heading into the super regional – which would’ve allowed Terre Haute to be the host city. In a statement on social media, the Athletic Department cited their hosting the Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games and mentioned a lack of hotel space and a constrained staff as factors in not hosting.
