Barr Reeve 2 Tecumseh 3
If you listened to Mike DeCoursey and Josh Thompson on the General or were part of the massive crowd in attendance it was a softball regional final for the ages in Montgomery. It took 8 innings and a perfect throw to the plate that would have tied it up again for the #1 ranked Tecumseh Braves to defeat the #2 ranked Barr Reeve Vikings 3-2. With Tecuseh leading 2-0 in the bottom of the 6th Grace Butcher tied it up with a long home run over the right center field wall. Tecumseh scored in the top of the 8th before the deciding play in the bottom half. It was another gem pitched by Karlye Graber who went all 8 innings for BR scattering 6 hits and striking out 11. Butcher led the Viking offensive attack going 3-4 with 2 RBI’s and that dramatic HR. Senior catcher Emma Davis had 2 hits and Senior Brooklyn Jones and Junior Willow Thompson also picked up hits. Josh Huff and the Vikings end their fantastic season at 23-4.
