The Lady Hatchets Track & Field finished 6th as a team at the Forest Park Invitational. The Hatchets placed in 11 out of 15 events that were available for competition. Freshman Ayla Owens once again flew over 8’0” in pole vault which currently has her as the school record holder in the event. The sole first place finish came from junior Molly Jones in the 400m dash where finished in 1:04.20. The Lady Hatchets will travel to Pike Central today.
Tennis
SOUTHRIDGE 1 BR 4
Freshman Brylee Fuhrman, Brynlee Rollins get singles wins and the doubles teams of Claire Harrison w/ Alli Jo Robinson and Faith Fuhs with Maddlyn Harrison also get wins.
 
Baseball
LINTON 2 ND 5
North Daviess scores 3 runs in the bottom of the 6 for a dramatic win over the Miners and move their record to 8 and 4 on the year.
 
LINCOLN 3 BR 13 in 5 innings.
Ethan Stoll picks up the win on the mound and Ethan Graber leads the offensive attack for the Vikings going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.
 
Softball
LINCOLN 0 BR 9
Playing without their seniors who left for the class trip Junior Karlye Graber took over. She was in the circle and took a perfect game into the 7th inning finally giving up 2 hits but shutout the Alices on 17 strikeouts. Karlye along with Willow Thompson went deep for the Vikings.
WHS 3 PC 10
Chargers get the win at home versus the Hatchets who continue to get better as the season goes along. Chargers move to 12 and 1 on the year.
 
Paolo Banchero was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year. The Orlando Magic forward secured 98 out of 100 first-place votes. A 6-foot-10 forward out of Duke, Banchero averaged 20 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 72 games.
 
 
TEX 3 CIN 5
DH Tyler Stephenson went 2 for 3 and 3B Nick Senzel went 2 for 4 with a homer. Graham Ashcraft pitched 6 inning of 3 hit baseball for the win.
 
The Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing is set for Thursday May 18th and Dewayne Shake and myself will be live with the Morning Shakeup at Country Oaks Golf Club. Registration and breakfast will begin at 7am with the morning group teeing off at 8. Lunch will be served prior to the afternoon group teeing off at 1 pm.
