Evansville Man Arrested for Drug Possession and Battery on a Police Officer During High-Speed Chase

David Flaherty, 55, was arrested for various offenses after being caught driving his motorcycle at 76 mph in a 50-mph zone near Fulton Ave. in Evansville on Monday night. His driver’s license was suspended. During the traffic stop, when officers attempted to take a large knife from Flaherty, he fled on the Greenway Passage from Fulton Avenue, but he was quickly captured. Officers found two large baggies containing methamphetamine and fentanyl, a glass smoking pipe, and a small amount of marijuana. Flaherty is held without bond and faces charges including battery on a police officer, dealing methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana.
