The Lady Hatchets Track & Field team gets a win on senior night against North Posey. WHS honored three Lady Hatchet seniors, Tamara “JuJu” Datus, Megan Hinkle and Ellie Matteson.
Some other highlights Junior Molly Jones tied her PR in high jump at 4’10” which sealed her 1st place. Bree Browning placed 1st in discus throwing 88’7” Jasara Turner, sophomore, placed 1st in long jump, Kapri Granger, placed first in both of her hurdles races Freshman Ayla Owens hit a new PR in pole vault sailing over 8’0” for a 1st place finish.
The Lady Hatchets will compete on Friday at the Linton Invitational.

Vincennes Rivet baseball with a wild one, they trailed 16-5 in the fifth to Shoals. Patriots rallied back to win 21-20!
Barr Reeve golf team traveled to Cypress Hills to take on South Knox and Vincennes Lincoln. Lincoln wins with a 161, Spartans fire a 181 and the Vikings tally a 200.
 
The Chicago Cubs blew it open with 5 in the 9th to beat the Athletics 12-2. Eric Hosmer went 3-5 with a homer for the North Siders who banged out 11 hits
 
As you heard on the General the Rays shutout the Reds for the second day in a row defeating Cincinnati 8-0 and outsourcing the team 18 to nothing in the last 2 days.
The Cardinals erupted for 14 runs in beating the Diamondbacks 14-5. Jake Woodford got the W on the mound to move to 1 and 2 on the year. Shortstop Tommy Edman led the offense for the redbirds with 3 hits and 5 RBI’s including his first HR of the season
 
Mets pitcher Max Scherzer was ejected before the fourth inning of Wednesday’s game between against the Dodgers after he appeared to have sticky substance on his glove and hand. Scherzer had his hands and glove inspected in the 3rd and 4th inning by the umpires and was ejected after a heated argument. If Scherzer is found to have been using an illegal substance, he faces an automatic 10-game suspension.
 
Tiger Woods undergoes fusion surgery to treat post-traumatic arthritis in his foot from the talus fracture he sustained in his career-threatening car crash in 2021. With this surgery, it’s now unclear when Woods will compete again.
